Bento #46

Bento #46
Top: Soba sauce in container. From left: Banana in banana case, soba with bear shaped seaweed sprinklers, gyoza, spring onion (in yellow container) & edamame.

Most of the time when we go to Japanese restaurant, LZ must order cold noodles, especailly Z. Yesterday, Z asked me to prepare cold noodle for lunch before going to the hospital and I did but I didn't have time to prepare for L and she have lunch outside with LZdaddy. Feeling guilty, I decided to prepare it for her bento today.smile

L was very happy to see that I packed today bento into her High School musical lunch box. I can't put in the banana case so what did I do? I used a string to tie it to the bag.wink

This is the other ice pack(about my hand size) that I often use and it can last longer than the one I bought from Daiso and I put it into the bento bag. L told me her soba & the sauce were still very chilled when she had it during recess. Below the soba, I also placed a small ice pack (from Daiso) so that the soba will be chilled too.

For the soba sauce, I freeze it but not to the extend when it becomes hard, hopefully you know what I mean. Hehehe... Hope this info helped for those of you who are keen to pack cold noodles for their bento. smile

Hi. Thanks for the tip. Have not tried packing cold soba, thought too difficult. Your explanation made it highly doable.

The My Melody lunch bag is sooo pretty. You must have spent a fortune on all your Bento lunch boxes and tools eh?

just a thought, have you ever tried technic ice? i found that they even turn my liquid expressed breast milks to frozen ones within hours. You could slot it inside a zipper bag before placing it in the bento box. I use it often for out and about. Last prob about 8 hours or so.

is that a high school musical lunchbox? Kimberly would go nuts over that one. ha ha

U mean dry ice? Thought of it but so far the ice pack I bought from supermarket works well :) Thanks for the suggestion and if I need my bento to last longer than that few hours, I will go get that.

Jacss
I get the banana case from ebay :) It is actually quite fast to prepare the cold noodles, you should try it. :)

Rene
Thank you for visiting and your compliments :) Do hope you will visit again.
